Hostel Information

• Our Hostel is behind Griffin Candle Company. You can get to the hostel through the fence openings on either side of the shop.

• Our Dame of Hostel is Abbey Manalli, proprietress of Griffin Candles.

• It is located at 124 Guildhall Row North.

• Abbey is allowing us to play here out of the goodness of her own heart. But this is her livelihood and our activities should not hinder her in any way. So:

  • Do not crowd her shop, especially from paying customers.
  • Do not go through the back of the shop.
  • Do not congregate in the hostel area.
  • Keep your voices down in the hostel at all times.
  • Abbey's privies and the inner circle privies are not for our use.
  • Please do not go above the shop without permission.
  • Please do whatever Abbey asks.(within reason)

• We are all responsible for welcoming and assisting new/visiting sister wenches.

• There will be a cooler in the Hostel for water/drinks. Communal water and ice will be purchased with Guild funds or donated. If you put something personal in there, please label it. If it is not labeled then it will be assumed that it is for public consumption.

• We are not responsible for any personal items left at the Hostel. Faire security would prefer that we do not store personal items behind the Hostel.

• Please feel free to donate to the Guild funds. They will be used to purchase water and the occasional snack for Guild purposes.

Safety

• Our safe word in any form is “Marshall.” (I.e. Lord Marshall, Sir Marshall) This word is used to alert your sister Wenches to a situation where you do not feel comfortable or your safety is being threatened with out breaking character.

• We guard our own Walks. We are independent, strong women and we can take care of ourselves. Other Lundegaard Guild members or approved Bristol Seahawks may also assist in guarding the walk.

• If you feel uncomfortable in any situation, speak up, please! There is no reason you should have to put up with anything that makes you feel troubled.

• Find a safe space. Go into a shop, head for a group of playtrons, or the Hostel.

• Satellite shops that have Wenches in them are: La Paloma Hats, Magikal Glassworks, Pendragon, Mayhawke Armoury, Camelot Fans and House of Dra (so far).

• If it is a major issue (i.e. life threatening, restraining order type of behavior) go to faire security. They usually walk around in white polo shirts with the Faire logo and khaki shorts carrying a yellow flag. Our security contact is our very own Lisa Vosmik.

• Stay hydrated! (WATER! not ale)
